Water Environment – Water Quality and Aquatic Ecosystems

  • Rivers, lakes, marshes The five major rivers continue their rating of "Good" (Level 2 or higher) at upstream points where the majority of water consumption occurs; at downstream points, biochemical oxygen demand and total phosphorous are improving, while chemical oxygen demand is deteriorating
    • Upstream points Paldang Dam (Han River), Andong Dam 1 (Nakdong River), Daecheong Dam (Geum River), Damyang Dam (Yeongsan River), Juam Dam (Seomjin River)
    • Downstream points Noryangjin (Han River), Mulgeum (Nakdong River), Buyeo 1 (Geum River), Naju (Yeongsan River), Gurye (Seomjin River)
